Foxholes Castle Camping is situated in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A ten minute walk down the Shropshire way which runs through the campsite will lead you to the market town of Bishop’s Castle.
It is a friendly and fascinating town offering an interesting variety of shops, a leisure centre with swimming pool, historic buildings, museums and a selection good places to eat. The town has six public houses in total, two of which are real ale home-brew pubs, The Three Tuns and the Six Bells.
Bishop’s Castle hosts frequent festivals and music gigs. Such as the carnival on the 1st sunday of July, Bishop's Castle Real Ale Festival on the 2nd weekend of July, the third weekend is party in the parkand the Michaelmas Fair on 3rd weekend September. During these celebrations the town is alive with street art, performances, live music, vintage vehicles and machinery and stalls of local craft and produce. Live music is performed weekly at local pubs.

Bishop's Castle Walking Festival (May 1 - 25)
A three week programme of guided walks in the Shropshire Hills - short, medium and challenging. This will include special interest walks such as map reading, wild flowers and singing! BISHOP’S CASTLE MUSIC DAY FOR AMNESTY 1st May Bank Holiday (May 1-2)
24 hours of music in the town centre from 4.00 p.m. on Friday to early evening on Saturday by a great variety of band & musicians organised by the town orchestra and Amnesty Group. Music will be played in at least 12 venues both business and community premises, by about 30 various groups of musicians. There will also be market stalls. All venues are free but donations to Amnesty welcome.

A 22 mile circular charity walk through beautiful countryside starting from Bishop’s Castle using mainly public footpaths. There are shorter options of 13 and 9 miles. It is raising money to help beat blood cancer.
THE 12TH CLUN VALLEY CHALLENGE WALK May 16
16 or 26 miles starting from Clun Memorial Hall with 4,300 ft. of ascent. Entry £20 includes certificate, badge and gourmet refreshments. No dogs and no entries on the day
ARBOR DAY & CEILIDH AT ASTON-ON-CLUN 2nd May Bank Holiday (May 24)
Parade from the village hall at 1.15p.m. to the famous black poplar tree for the 2.00 p.m. ceremony, Morris Dancing, singing and readings, followed by children’s entertainment on the green. An evening ceilidh will be led by Mostly John.

Walcot Hall, Lydbury North. The gardens and arboretum of this former home of Clive of India are open for charity under the Yellow Book scheme from 1.30p.m. to 5.30 p.m. both days.
